Standard Routes

Applicants should not necessarily expect to fly any of the regular local routes used during training as the test is intended to be a practical exercise to a destination and/or alternate airfield, normally within 150 nm.

I’ve added a warning to the Standard Routes page to remind everyone that these routes are only standard for the training phase; on the actual IR test the CAA examiner may ask you to fly a route that you have not seen before.  Make sure that you read Standards Document 1 that fully describes what you can expect on the IR test.  Take particular note of the quote above.
