Be aware that the CAA examiners may not ask you to fly a “standard route”; they may ask you to plan a route that you have not flown before. Make sure to read Standards Document 1 so that you know exactly what to expect on your IR test. In particular, read paragraph 3.1.5 which states, “Applicants should not necessarily expect to fly any of the regular local routes used during training as the test is intended to be a practical exercise to a destination and/or alternate airfield, normally within 150 nm.”
However, here are some routes commonly used during training, and how they should be entered onto the flightplan. More notes on the routes may be viewed by following the link on the airfield name.
